BREAKING NEWS -- Back to Federal Court for Chris! At the same time Chris Temple was preparing a Motion to federal court to terminate the supervised release regimen he has been under for over a year and --among other things -- finally be able to make more meaningful progress on paying his just debts, the Government was preparing its own efforts to not only try to stop him, but to potentially PUT HIM BACK IN JAIL. The purpose of this site is to serve as a repository for many of my essays and commentaries dealing with a host of important public policy issues. In addition, you will see here, over time, NEW commentaries on our economy, our society and much, MUCH more; both from Yours Truly and others! Look for this content to be added incrementally in the weeks and months ahead. For those who request to be on my mailing list for notification of these postings, you’ll receive an e-mail whenever something new is added! In addition, this site is serving as a means for members of the defense bar, paralegals and other interested parties to keep up with developments and issues surrounding my 2003-2004 prosecution and subsequent incarceration. Though I was released from federal prison in early May, I continue to fight for SOME legitimate hearing related to my unconstitutional sentence. Most recently, I started the process in federal court in Duluth, Minnesota to obtain a Writ of Habeas Corpus; as happened elsewhere previously, though, that court has barred me so far from a hearing on the merits of my proven claims. Eventually, it looks as though a THIRD trip to the Supreme Court will be in the offing! I’ll have that recent filing and additional developments posted here soon; for now, you can read further below what has transpired already.

Disclosure regarding the Editor, Chris Temple: On July 21, 2004, Christopher L. Temple appeared in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin and was sentenced to the custody of the Bureau of Prisons for a term of 72 months on each of two counts to run concurrently. He previously pled guilty to one count of mail fraud in violation of 18 U.S.C. Sec. 1341 and one count of laundering of monetary instruments in violation of 18 U.S.C. Sec. 1956 (a)(1)(A)(I), both of which are Class C felonies. On November 25, 2009, Christopher L. Temple was released from the custody of the Bureau of Prisons and is serving a three-year term of supervised release with the U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services Office in the Western District of Wisconsin.
