Dear Friends, Last Friday, the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the sentence I received last July (2004). This was expected by me, given that- from the outset – the lawyer appointed to my case, Jordan Loeb, of the firm Cullen, Weston, Pines and Bach, sabotaged my appeal from the get-go. The 7th Circuit affirmed my sentence despite (or because of?) its knowledge of this. More than a dozen times during the period my appeal has been pending, I have attempted to get to the 7th Circuit MY REAL ISSUES on appeal, once it became clear that Loeb was working on the government’s side. This includes a motion back in July where I informed the 7th Circuit of Loeb’s conduct for the umpteenth time, and asserted my RIGHT to represent myself. As with every other attempt I made before and since that time to SOMEHOW present my appeal able issues, I was told to get lost. So, now the battle goes to the next stage. Thankfully, both Loeb and the 7th Circuit (particularly its clerk) have been SO brazen in their denial of my rights to both due process and effective assistance of counsel during my direct appeal, that I have a compelling petition to the U.S. Supreme Court in the works to compel the 7th Circuit to FINALLY let ME appeal MY case (in technical terms, it’s called a Petition for a Writ of Mandamus). Other avenues are being looked at, also, as I try to receive the justice that is supposed to be available in what is more like a “Just Us” system. Soon, I’ll have on this site the entirety of the “paper trail” of this latest battle against the federal government and its partner in this case, The Southern Poverty Law Center. Among other things (like coming as a shock to those of you living under the illusion that the constitution means anything in the federal criminal “Just Us” system) you’ll see the proof as to how the government’s planted lawyer, Loeb, sold me out.
